Trump

Note : I think I screwed up on the settings on this blog. I wanted it to look cool in my eyes, but it makes the text difficult to read due to the color contrast. I'm sorry for this. But it's a good predicament in a way that I'm now learning HTML and CSS in order to improve this.

Patton Speech in the video, from the movie Patton, was based on a speech that General Patton gave on 1944 to Third Army prior to Overlord Operation (landing on Normandy)

Be Seated

Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

Men, all this stuff you've heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans, traditionally, love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle.

When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, the big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time.

Now, I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and will never lose a war. Because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.

Now, an army is a team. It lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap. The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about individuality for the Saturday Evening Post don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating.

Now, we have the finest food and equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world. You know, by God, I actually pity those poor bastards we're going up against. By God, I do. We're not just going to shoot the bastards. We're going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun bastards by the bushel.

Now, some of you boys, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll chicken-out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty. The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood. Shoot them in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do.

Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything -- except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose, and we're gonna kick him in the ass. We're gonna kick the hell out of him all the time, and we're gonna go through him like crap through a goose!

Now, there's one thing that you men will be able to say when you get back home, and you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you, "What did you do in the great World War II?" -- you won't have to say, "Well, I shoveled shit in Louisiana."

Alright now you sons-of-bitches, you know how I feel. Oh, I will be proud to lead you wonderful guys into battle anytime, anywhere.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
-George Patton

And so the day before, my wife and I went to my mom's house. We had a lovely lunch and dinner, and our pleasant talks.

One of the topics is about President Trump.

So I told my mom something like this.

Most news, and stories in the Net that you hear and saw, it comes from the media, and these media are located in the urban.

Hence, despite of all the negative impressions on Trump of the media, we tend to forget that these impression are voices of the urban people, and does not reflect the rural people which forms the majority of the USA.

It's the same with Malaysia. Those news, online or offline, are actually from the people living in the urban and might not reflect the majority of the people.

That is number 1.

Number 2 is, everybody is struggling. Whether Malaysia or US, most people are actually struggling economically. Due to slow-trend of oil demand/supply, the Syrian war, the economy just took a massive hit.

And so, when people are struggling, what will they do?

Do they listen to obnoxious long winded talks explaining this and that?

Nope. They just want things to be better.

Not only that, people want to protect what they have. There'll be elements of protectionism and invidualism driven by people's instinct to survive.

So there's no need to be surprised when UK people voted for Brexit. It's the idea of being UK first.

And there's no need to be surprised when US voted Trump and decided to build a wall and protect themselves.

Even in the Net, the Russian people like to boast of their current military power. The thing is when you feel great, it gives you some sort of pride and identity belonging.

No amount of liberal ideas and preaching will change people especially when people are struggling.

If you got million of liberating ideas but you don't have purchasing power,
and in the same time, someone less educated makes more money than you,
one can't help but feel stupid, right?

And your liberal reaching will make the people feel more stupid.

All of the real heroes are not storybook combat fighters, either. Every single man in this Army plays a vital role. Don't ever let up. Don't ever think that your job is unimportant. Every man has a job to do and he must do it. Every man is a vital link in the great chain. - George Patton

If you understand it in this view, then at least we can understand of Trump and Make America Great Again.

Philip Zimbardo, famous for his Stanford Prison Experiment,

explains his thoughts on why boys are falling in developed and developing countries.
What I seen in my neighbourhoods, is that boys are fighting to be cool rather than be great.

That's why we lack of great men.

And why most women stayed single. Lack of good men.

One thing I learnt from the Philip Zimbardo video earlier, is to make sure to have family dinner together, somehow that's one of way you can instill values to kids.

We need to have that sense of identity and that hunger to become great.

Yeah it's also a lesson of previous Arsenal defeats. The players just doesn't have that hunger and mental strength on situations that matter.
