In all things, discern profits from loss

Last Saturday, I had a discussion with my boss.

A few problems, but one prevalent item was about another sub-con in our Project.

Last June, the Korean Main Con, and I, together with sub-cons of other trade, discussed about "Roof Coordination", how to coordinate our equipment setting out with our pipework route.

We submitted our drawings, and I had to re-do the drawings myself, to suit the site conditions.

Apparently, a full coordinated drawing was made, and from there, equipment  plinths were constructed by the Main Con.

What happened this week was, one of the sub-con changed their pipe routing, and proceed their "new" pipework routing.

The pipework run exactly on top of my equipment's plinth. Not only that, their items were scattered all over the Roof floor, hence our team could not get our pump installed.

Last Thursday, I didn't went into full rage because previously I worked as an engineer in a HVAC contractor company. I knew the reason of them doing it. But deep inside, I feel wronged.

The Main-Con didn't take any action. Usually NCR (Non-compliance report) is issued, but here, they seem not to care.

"It's your own business. Not our problem. Go and discuss with that sub-con".

I informed my boss that Thursday of what happened and he instructed me to get it cleared.

Then, that evening, a Whatsapp Group was made by that sub-con, and discussions were made as if Main-Con had agreed the relocation.

I feel raged and wronged, but, since there were Clients, bosses, Consultants, and my own boss is in the Whatsapp Group, I had no choice but to tell them "we need time to look at it, send your Cad file so I can check".

The Saturday discussion with my boss, was mind-opening.

I told Boss, I had few pictures taken, and I will send a Memo to the Main Con saying about obstruction of our installation.

My boss plainly screwed me "You don't go around making enemies at site, ok?"

I was taken aback.

He lets me cool down, then explained to me about construction is basically a Business in nature.

And in Business, you don't simply screw off with other Business. You have to trade in, and you have to consider about the future. We might need other people's help.

In this problem, even though I was right, but business-wise, I have to let go my emotions and deal the issue strictly technical-wise.

We have to trade in, and to make sure everybody wins at the end.

I changed this blog "layout" because of this entry above.

Welcome to changes.

(Gelabah betul tulis panjang2 masa post entry ni earlier stage)

 (Chorus)

You'll see it's my fault
Angels stabbing me inside
Nothing changes
Just rearranges
For me this time

Remember

There are 3 special things on this week I want to remember.

5-minute date

In the movie Dilwale, due to their busy time schedule, the hero SRK asks heroine Kajol for a 5-minute date.

And so I did one. As a surprise. The only stupid thing about it, the date was in a KFC beside my fiancee's bakery shop.

But it was OK since KFC Malaysia sells mango juice, and my fiancee loves mango products terribly.

Hello Kitty as a present. Told her to hug it during sleep.
A simple plastic rose. A white heart-shaped box, with cheap necklace inside it.

I put my handwatch there to keep time.

I sms-ed her to come to KFC, 10 minutes prior to her finishing her job.

I just plainly told her, to meet up just for 5 minutes, like the movie Dilwale.

I was lucky the KFC branch wasn't full of people.

Just ordered 2 nos. of mango juice (Twister product). Didn't ordered any food or chocolate cakes since she was on diet.

She was surprised indeed when I gave her the single rose.

And her favourite mango juice.

Talked about her job that day. And some other minor stuff.

She asked why I did this, as other women I knew, who likes to question motives.

The key to answering those question is :- keep a simple plain "I don't give a damn" pokerface, and just say "I miss you".

As soon as she finished her drink, I accompanied her to her car.

Then went back.

I could see she waited. So I just turn my head to her, look at her for few seconds, then just went.

Total time taken : 15 minutes.

Million thanks to God, for making the sky clear with no rain at that exact time.

If it was raining, the simple 5-minute-date-magic will disappear.

Lessons in Life

After that I went to a book-shop.

Because it was raining heavily after that.

I bought this books.

Even though I'm an Arsenal fan, without doubt Alex Ferguson of Man U is the best football manager.

Up to this moment, I've read up to about how he felt about Roy Keane.

There are million lessons there from both books.

Remember

This week, I'm enchanted by this track.

I did cried listening to this remembering about my father who had passed away.

However, I still hate rap.

But the guitar melodies is beautiful. The lyrics and the video music is beautiful and passionate.

Thank you God for these moments are simple yet meaningful.

Million prayers for my dad who had passed away. May God forgives me, and may I see him thereafter with Salam (peace).

I miss him.

You never think you know

http://www.nst.com.my/news/2016/01/121846/construction-worker-killed-collapsing-crane-incident

PETALING JAYA: A construction worker was killed while three were injured in the collapsed crane incident at Jalan Damansara, here today. Fire and Rescue Department received a report at approximately 4.50pm and arrived at the scene 20 minutes later.

The victim is known as Li Ji Yia, 50 while those injured were of Myanmar and Chinese nationals which have yet to be ascertained.

Muhammad Firdaus said the 25-member rescue squad from Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Sri Hartamas and Hang Tuah fire stations had to take about two hours to retrieve Li's body as it was trapped between the platform the victim was using and the overturned crane.

----
Statistics of Construction Incidents

-----

This week, while Muslim Malays Malaysians were busy talking on social media about open breast-feeding, Be-Like-Rashid memes, and making noises and opinions about issues that they own selves unable to change,

I'm grieving by what happened some days ago. Someone lost his life while trying to earn money for his family.

I work in construction line.

Not just the bloody pressure and work shits, you know that somebody did lose his life on this line. It could be me, who knows?

----

And then Jakarta bombing happens on Thursday.

I was in a meeting when one of the Architects, suddenly informs all about the Jakarta attack during the meeting break.

----

I remember having Google Hangout chatting with one of the famous bloggers in Malaysia.

I asked him a question.

"Why there's more social ills in Malays society compared to Chinese, when, the Chinese Amois wore more sexy clothes, Chinese drink and gamble but Muslims Malays do not, why is that?"

He gave his reasons, which I wouldn't share here.

One question lingers within my head then.

"This week, a non-muslim in Malaysia died while working, while some Muslims in Indonesia died by killing policemen in public. How come?"

------

Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth, Cursed Earth

I will never feed off
The evergreen luster of your heart
All because we all live
In the valley of the walls

When we speak
We can peak from the windows
Of their mouths to see the land
The women chant as they fly up to the sun

You never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know, why
Know, know, know

Books all say different things
While people flap their yellow wings
Trying to soar by being a whore of life
And almost everything

The sheep that ran off from the herd
May be dead but now's a bird
Able to fly able to die
Able to break your cursed earth

You never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know why
Know

On the other side, the other side, other side
Do you ever try to fly, do you ever try to fly?
Have you ever wanted to die
You ever want to die?

Don't ever try to fly, don't ever try to fly
Don't ever try to fly
Unless you leave your body on the other side
Never try to die, you ever try to die.

Know, you never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, you never think you know, why
Know, ever think you know, why
Know

---------

In the end, I do not care of the answers.

What I did was, after I finished my prayers, I went to Youtube and enjoying these rock videos.

I became numb of all things that happened.

Because, I think,

even if we live in a corrupt world, even if every girls walk naked on the street,

talking, discussing, debating it would not change it all.
even bombing yourself to death would not change this world to utopia.

Just focus about being the best person doing the best you could for your loved ones.

Don't become a philosopher to change the world.

Just change your self to be a better person.

If you want a better Islamic world, then become a better Muslim.
Because to your loved ones, you are the world to them.

-----------

I'm following this :-

Now, since I felt relieved writing on this blog on thoughts that disturbed my mind,

I'm learning Sejati by Wings :-

---------------

For Malaysians Malay Muslims:-

I'm too lazy to update my other blog http://fir-9898-islam.blogspot.my/, I just share this video here.

I think I learnt a great deal by this video.
And I trying to practice something that he taught, this early morning.
Wish me luck.

And the book Petunjuk Sepanjang Jalan by Syed Qutb that he mentions,
you can find it here:-

One thing,
something that I learnt during my University days, when I join UM guys Tabligh 1 days and 3 days outing,

You will feel religion to be sincere if you do it for yourself.

People joining Tabligh knew this.
The Tabligh preaching is not to change the world, but to change your own innerself.

You go preach from house to house, the reasoning is not to change others, but more towards changing yourself.

Giving effort and hardship, will somehow change you from within.

It's never about changing other people.

the idea is despite the intensive preaching, those Quraisy who are close to the Prophet didn't embrace the religion, but people like Salman came from outright Persia just to learn the religion.

And so.

This is my personal opinion and idea.

Just change your self to be better, and you will find the world to be different.

And to the question I ask to the famous blogger,

I found the answer straight within my heart.

We Malays focus too much changing others, but we didn't work much to change ourselves.

KUALA LUMPUR: A construction worker was killed instantly when a crane collapsed at a construction site in Jalan Damansara, here, earlier today. The 4.40pm incident saw the victim Li Yi Jia, 50, pinned by a steel frame against a concrete pillar, which is being built to support a flyover there. City Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander Muhammad Firdaus Khan said authorities believed that the victim and two of his colleagues were on the steel frame when it was being lifted by the crane. "When the crane suddenly collapsed, the victim was trapped in between the steel frame and concrete pillar. "However, his colleagues were lucky as they only fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries," he said.

Find peace within yourself

This is a personal post,
but I'll share it with you,
in case there's something here which can lead you to find peace within yourself.

This is about someone I knew some long time ago.

This was the person who introduced me to New Order.
and a lot of musical stuff, during University days.

Then as years passed by, we went our separate ways.

Few years back, I was invited to make a Facebook account.

I met this fella online.

Then I knew, this fella had changed.

This fella no longer spoke to me.

From what I understood, this fella went religion-alised.

Well, we all are. In each of our different unique state suited to us.

But I found out, this fella viewed me as a representation of the hedonistic corrupt world of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as he trenched himself back to the original unfazed Islamic living at one of the northern states in Malaysia.

I send an invitation to my upcoming wedding, but there's no reply or answer.

I saw his Facebook, there's full of Islamic debates on theology, philosophy.

I remembered he kinda hated me for liking the Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainal Abidin, since he was pro-Zamihan group.

I just like this Dr Maza who preached about doing night Tahajjud prayers, so that you will have some sort of spriritual sustenance while working on a high pressure construction job and screwed life.

I am no longer friends with this fella on Facebook, and somehow it shaped my philosophy on Facebook as below-

1. Just keep the intimate people around

And so I believe that the number of people on Facebook should be 150-200 because that's is our ability limit to feel intimate with.

And so, I don't think there's any good reasoning to have more people beyond that, those extra person wouldn't be so close and intimate with us.

2. There should be no opinion or argument, opinion/fact/argument should be on blogs not Facebook.

Facebook is for being intimate with those people.

You don't talk serious politics or opinions intimately, right?

3. Those who are intimate with you follows this simple fact:
"those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
and so sillyness or whatever, is tolerated because what matters to me is knowing your well-being.

There's recent debate in Malaysia about people breastfeeding in public.

Well, I don't care.

There's too much thing to think in my hectic life than to bother  and comment so much about what others want to do.

If this Amran fella, or Malaysian public want to care so much about women, it is better for them to read about Lyudmilla Pavlichenko.

At least she did something to her country.

What about them then?

What has Amran, the followers, or whoever in the bloody debate had did something better for the lives of us all, other than jokes?

Life's too short.

And this blog and Tumblr, whatever I wrote here, is FREE.

It is FREE.

You don't have to spend a single cent of your bloody hard-earned penny to read this.

And in return, I don't have to care about what your comments is.

Is it by having followers and popularity of social media, or becoming bloody popular itself, helps to pay my bills?

Then what's the hassle? Why bother?

Just do what you like, share what you like with those whom you are intimate.

Be simple.

If you are dead now, I don't think God will question your opinions.

God just question what you do with what you were given.

Do your best in your life, your working life, family life, religion life, pray that personal Tahajjud prayer,

rather than commenting and thinking so much about the bloody world

whom couldn't be changed by your words alone.

Find peace within yourself.

yeah again I re-post this track because I like it.

And I think this song made this week's Monday morning a little bit calm.

And listening to this with today's evening rain is calming.

And I keep reminding myself today, despite all my best effort, there'll be "limitations" (Daayre) so just pray for the best.

Notes :

1. I'm waiting for new Megadeth's album Dystopia coming out this month 2016.

2. Photos above are New Order 's album covers. Source : Wikipedia

3. Chill out mate. This internet social media is nothing. Be happy and feel the fun of doing things you like.
If you're too focused on thinking about comments and debates, you'll be like Axl Guns N Roses who spent too much time about discussion rather than having the album Chinese Democracy done.
Be cool.

4. I appreciate good comments I received from Google Plus. Thanks for brightening up my day. Its those critique that is discouraging in nature that I'm not fond with.

5. My English is not good. But one thing good about not speaking in your mother tongue is that it makes you think harder, & in every hard effort, small seeds of success is grown.

Dilwale (2015) - Daayre

Watched Dilwale (Hindi means "big-hearted") with loved ones this afternoon.

I could hear girls giggling, "oohs" and "aahs" in the cinema during the movie.

The scenery and songs is quite romantic, hence why this movie is a box-office in Malaysia.

To me, this track, together with its beautiful scenery is pleasing to me.

http://www.bollymeaning.com/2015/12/dayre-meaning-lyrics-translation.html

daayra is an Urdu word which means circle. At the same time it can also mean limit or limitation. daayre is the plural for daayra, and hence can mean circles, limits or limitations. Here in the song daayre from the film Dilwale, it’s used as limitations.

Why do they limit the love of hearts,
limitations, ah, these limitations..

why have they got these distances between us,
limitations, ah, these limitations..

all those glass dreams of ours were fragile,
they started breaking at the mere touch..
those, whose togetherness I had asked for in prayers,
those companions are getting lost..

it doesn’t seem right to die, nor am I able to live..
limitations, ah, these limitations..

Just for fun and romantic sake.

Since i played metal stuff most of the time, so this acoustic guitar I use for figuring this out is a one-step down tuning.

Ordinary World (update)

.

The object of giving medals, stars and ribbons is to give pride and pleasure to those who have deserved them.

At the same time a distinction is something which everybody does not possess.

If all have it it is of less value.

There must, therefore, be heartburnings and disappointments on the border line.

A medal glitters, but it also casts a shadow.

The task of drawing up regulations for such awards is one which does not admit of a perfect solution.

It is not possible to satisfy everybody without running the risk of satisfying nobody.

All that is possible is to give the greatest satisfaction to the greatest number and to hurt the feelings of the fewest.

- Winston Churchill, 22 March 1944

There are times when the world is filled with darkness, so that we can appreciate more of what glitters, I guess.
Life glitters, and it also casts a shadow
- firdaus-9898.blogspot.com / beyondthispunkt.tumblr.com

But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive.

3-legged Kitten Adopted by 2-year-old Amputee Share a Special Connection

A three-legged kitten was adopted by a family with a 2-year-old girl, Scarlette, who is also an amputee herself. When they first met, they connected as if they understood each other.
Scarlette is a very brave little girl who has beat a rare form of cancer though her left arm was left amputated. She absolutely adores cats. “We wanted a little kitten to have her grow up with, so she has something that’s just like her,” Simone Tipton told Love Meow. They spent half a year looking for a three-legged kitty to join their family and just before Christmas they found her!

why so gloomy this new year?

Not Worth It

Malaysians this week (27 Dec 2015 to 1 Jan 2016) in general are noisy about a 14-year old girl Nor Amirah Athirah Abdul Majid.

She was alleged to have been kidnapped, but apparently, she ran away with her boyfriend for "freedom".

As pe latest un-confirmed reports, Police have remanded both the girl and her boyfriend for investigation.
