Paint It Black

Video : Intro of the 80’s show : Nam Tour Of Duty.

Shown in Malaysia’s TV2 during the 80’s-90’s

Song : Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore, I want them to turn black

I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they’re all painted black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back

I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby it just happens everyday

I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and I must have it painted black

Maybe then I’ll fade away and not have to face the facts
It’s not easy facing up when your whole world is black

blatherskite

When I was a student in University Malaya, I noticed one simple thing.

The student leaders, whether they’re pro government or anti-government, will always promise to “enhance” the public transport in UM, i.e. the bus.

No matter what, it is an empty talk.

The bus is owned by a public company, and if the students really want to change the condition, they had to pool up money to buy stocks of the transport company, then force the change to happen.

Empty words from empty people don’t change things. As an engineer, I hate talking about “what?”, I’m more interested about “how?”

When I graduated from UM, and went to Dubai, my family member got married to a “political activist”, or so that what he claims.

When I came back to Malaysia 4 years later, I found out he’s not working. His wife supported him. And his children. He spent his time during the days plotting, sloganeering, media social and everything. While his wife went to KTM every morning at 6am to work at KL from Kajang, he’s still dozing off.

To me, he’s an asshole, and one of the reasons why Malaysian politics couldn’t change for the better.

No matter what, his words are mere empty talk. If one couldn’t bring positive change to his family, can you believe him to bring positive change to his nation?

During 2012-2015, there was a massive advertisement of Islamic products in social media. And there was a lot of people talking religion.

I usually take a look at their physical look. If the Islamic preacher is fat, his preaches will be unusually boring to the core that they had to resort to “singing”, i.e. reading the prayers in melodic verses.

If the Islamic preacher promotes modesty but he himself came to the mosque with a grand Mercedes car, his preaches will be unusually boring as well.

Therefore in life, I will always stay away from :-

1. young people who talks about grand things in life, which you know they could not attain it by themselves.

2. People who talk a lot but are not disciplined in their way of life.

3. People in the religious institutions who are rich and physically fat.

4. Those in the religious institutions who comments about science without understanding it. i.e. this fella. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68f-BnnKj7U

Simply because you know their words are empty. And empty words is nothing but boring.

Green Tea served in a hot cup

The story above revolves around the murder of Chao Zhong, the youngest son of Cao Cao.

You have to follow the whole 43 minute of above episode before you can fully understand what I'm about to say below.

During my years working in consultant firm 2010-2012, I've had a few people who treat me with enmity.
In work. Or what you may call as "office politics".

Today at 2015, I've fully understand why.

Actually, you cannot show to the world you are a outspoken smart aleck like Chao Zhong.

Otherwise you will attract attention and attract people to despise you.

If you think you have capabilities, if you think you have determination, sometimes the best way is to play like Sima Yi.

Always be relaxed and not be provoked.

If you ever had Chinese/ Japan dish, you will realise why people seldom stir the green tea.
Because it is usually served in a hot cup.
If you felt you are always being provoked, it is because most of the time people will benefit from your clumsiness.

Sometimes, you have to learn when to adresss conflict with inaction.

Or so the strategy, meet action with inaction.

There's a certain reason also why Cao Cao didn't do anything to Cao Pi.

It results in Cao Pi became the next emperor of Wu in the history of Three Kingdoms in China.

Being a team leader/acting PM now in my project, really taught me how to view things in terms of result.

Result oriented.

To find a strategy/tactic to ensure result is achieved.

Most of the time, it's best to support your team-member to rise rather than being the one leading everything.

And another point,

Anxiety is always defeating. The anxious one will always look guilty.
Therefore, be relaxed.

Be like a green tea served in a hot cup.

Napalm Death - How The Years Condemn

We are not invincible
Nor are we indestructible
There are choices - points of return
Will the path be easy?
Nothing is easy, but that's reality
For the sake of my loved ones
I will remain on this earth

It's the last chance to face the fears
I have always known
Better that than
to fear the unknown
How the years condemned my
heart to a plague of madness
How the years condemn

I think back on a life of friendships
Now, more than ever I cherish them
Was it you that had my back,
my absent friend?
I have to take these challenges to head on
No more excuses or fragile promises
I hope now I finally understand,
my absent friend

Animals is the debut album by Oxford based math rock band This Town Needs Guns. It had its UK release on 13 October 2008, under BSM Records, and on 10 March 2009 in the US, via Sargent House Records. It was recorded over the periods of March through May on a four weekend basis due to financial and personal demands. It was all recorded at the Lodge Studios in Northampton[1]
Every song on the album continues the same theme of being named after different types of animals. During the writing and recording phase, the band named each song with temporary names in order to avoid calling them formal titles, such as "New Track 1", etc. So, they settled with names of animals as a fleeting substitute for the song names, hoping to change them before release. However, the band eventually couldn't decide on official names to replace them with, so the titles remained as they were.[2]
There has been a promotional video made for 'Panda', which was aired on the band's website and record label's YouTube page on the 3rd of September, 2008.[3] However, this isn't an official single.
The album has been listed on the UK iTunes, but the track listing is incorrect; the songs have been listed alphabetically.

BuasirOtak The Komik / New ShinChan Comic

1. BuasirOtak The Komik
A 6 month effort by bloggers/commenters in the BuasirOtak (http://buasirotak.blogspot.com) to produce a good comic book.

2. New Shin Chan comic book.
Was surprised to found out yesterday that there is new Shin Chan comic book in Malaysia.

The new Book no.3 of Malay translation was issued this January 2015.

This new book is issued by UY Studios without the original Yoshito Usui who had passed away on 2009.

The original comic book by Yoshito Usui is up to Book no. 50.

I grew up with this comic, and I think most Malaysians children of the 90’s do.
